Course Description：
The course is a major basic technical course in Department of Automatic Test and Control, which is mainly research in imaging law and imaging instrument. Through studying of the course, students will have the ability to analyze the existing optical system, to understand the mutual relations and actions between the basic function units. And students will able to do structural design in dimensions, and to integrate the basic unit into a system. The course is still the basis of many professional courses for the students major in opto-electronic and optics.
The course includes Geometrical Optics, Typical Optical System and Theory of Aberration. Theory of Gaussian Optics is the core content of Geometrical Optics, comprising basic definitions and imaging theory of ray optics, optical system and imaging principle of sphere and plane, principle of the ideal optical system, energy and optical limiting theory and so on. Typical Optical System consists of imaging principle, optical limiting, magnification and dimension calculation of eye, microscope and illuminative system, telescope and optical inversion system, photo-optical system and projection optical system.
Aberration theory states reason of formation, concept, phenomena, basic calculation, characterization of aberration, the basic approach of aberration correction of spherical aberration, off-axis aberration and chromatic aberration in detail, making students have the capacity for structural design and calculation.
